Paul Doble from Great Britain uses smaXtec in particular as an “early warning system” for his 95 cows to help him pick up issues early, take preventive measures and reduce use of antibiotics. “The system gives me a heads-up and I am able to avoid having a really sick cow in my stable half a day or a day later,” reports Paul Doble. The farmer mostly works alone on his farm, which makes it hard for him to detect heat. This detection is now done by the smaXtec system and has also meant the pregnancy rate has increased significantly. Temperature alerts have proven themselves to be just as valuable because Paul Doble can rely on those alerts and he is able to check for potential illnesses when milking his cows. Cases of milk fever have already been picked up at an early stage.
