Already one week after administration of the smaXtec Bolus, pneumonia was detected. The farmer received an alert “Increased temperature” at around 11 p.m. and a few hours later, at around 6 a.m., an alert “Decrease in rumination” he called in his veterinarian. He was able to detect pneumonia in the early stages and treated the animal immediately.

Based on the curve diagram of cow 657 on the farm of a smaXtec customer, it can be seen that the bolus detects an increased temperature and triggers the first of four temperature alerts. With the administration of a cage magnet, the hardware disease can be treated well in most cases; in this case, too, the state of health improved rapidly after treatment with a cage magnet and ketoprosol.

In the first week after calving, a cow showed an increased temperature at 3 pm and reduced rumination at 3 am. With the help of the smaXtec system, our customer was able to detect an E.coli mastitis early and act quickly. By looking at the curve diagram, it can be seen that the cow returned to normal body temperature just a few days later and had her first oestrus on February 21. Due to the fast treatment, the cow recovered much quicker and her normal cycle was not interrupted!
