Winter dysentery kept at bay by early diagnosis
More than half of the cows with boluses that were in the first 21 days of lactation showed elevated temperatures at a similar time. The smaXtec customer suspected Mastitis, but the tests were negative for all cows. After closer observation, the farmer diagnosed winter dysentery. With the help of electrolytes, fluid substitution and symbiotic products, all the animals were quickly on the road to recovery and the disease did not spread any further.

With the smaXtec system, your animals on the pasture are also always in sight!
Our customer support team regularly checks our customers’ cow data and diagrams to make the best possible recommandations. This time, one heifer in particular caught their eye – she had a number of health alerts over the last few days. The team got in touch with the UK client who immediately checked on the heifer on pasture. And she didn’t look too fit – she had lost some weight and her manure was not ok. She was immediately given help in the form of painkillers and a mineral bolus. Shortly after, she was already feeling better. Things like this often go unnoticed without the help of smaXtec, especially when the cows spend a lot of time on the pasture in the summer. It’s great that our bolus technology helps farmers with problems big and small.
